SoT Rep ("we", "us") operates sotrep.com, a lookup and reputation-tracking tool for Sea of Thieves players. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how you can report inaccurate data for correction.
We use this information to operate the lookup and reputation features of the site, secure user accounts, prevent abuse of the platform, and respond to support requests and reports of inaccurate data. We do not sell your information to third parties.
We retain player and account data for as long as it's relevant to the site's purpose, or until a report of inaccurate data is verified and corrected. Technical logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes and then purged.
Most of what appears on SoT Rep for a given player — gamertag, connected accounts, social links, and similar details — is sourced from public data on Xbox Live, Discord, and Twitch. If something shown about an account is factually incorrect — for example a misattributed connection, or an account that isn't actually linked to the one shown — you can report it using our Data Report form.
Reports are reviewed manually by our team — no proof upload is required, though it can help us verify the report faster. Where we can confirm the inaccuracy, we will correct or remove the erroneous record, typically within 30 days.
We do not remove data solely because it's accurate but undesired. SoT Rep exists to maintain reliable, standing reputation records for the Sea of Thieves community, and that only works if an account can't be pulled from public view just because its owner would prefer it weren't there. At our discretion, we may still limit how a specific detail is displayed without altering or deleting the underlying record — this isn't guaranteed and is decided case by case.
If the account in question has been permanently closed on its original platform (Microsoft/Xbox, Discord, or Twitch), mention that in your report — once we can confirm the source account no longer exists, we'll remove the now-orphaned record. Until then, our systems may periodically re-observe and re-display the same public information from that platform, since we can't stop a platform from continuing to show data that's still public there.
Accounts with a confirmed-cheater flag based on inaccurate or outdated evidence may request a manual review of that flag.
The removal process above is about player data we've observed from public sources — it's separate from your SoT Rep login (the account you use to sign in, post Community Notes, and manage friends). If you'd like to delete your SoT Rep login entirely, you can do so yourself at any time from your Profile page, under "Danger zone." This immediately deletes your password, linked Google/Discord/Steam connections, friends list, and saved searches. Reviews and reactions you've left on other players' profiles stay up for the community, but are reassigned to a generic "Deleted User" label instead of your username.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and Cloudflare Turnstile to protect account-related forms from automated abuse. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
